The JED 303 manufactures ozone using the European method of an internal corona discharge chip. CD chip generation is preferred because it is believed to produce a consistent amount of ozone while the ultraviolet type units may lose effectiveness as the bulb gets weaker over time.

JED 303 Corona Discharge Ozonator Description:
The JED 303 is designed for water purification in residential and commercial hot tubs, small pools, fountains, cisterns, cold water plunges and water tanks up to 500 gallons. The JED 303 is supplied in a plastic rainproof enclosure that can be wall mounted outdoors. The JED 303 has its own built in air compressor which can pump ozone into a pool, tub or tank up to 24 hours a day independently of water circulation, and up to a depth of 4 feet. The JED 303 is typically installed in conjunction with an over the side weighted air stone or a thru-hull fitting.

It is rated at 20,000 hours of use, which is about 10 years of normal usage and can ozonate spas or pools up to 500 gallons. This is a very high quality unit for residential or commercial use.
